It is important to state that this article does not seek to portray Shatta Wale as a bad person rather it is to highlight certain traits that the youth may not have a deeper understanding of,which seriously have a negative effect on their behaviour.
With the analogy of calling a spade by its rightful name and not a big spoon, the smoking habit of Shatta Wale which he comfortably and publicly displays has made a lot of his followers think it is good to smoke and to even do it publicly. It will be no surprise to me if the young female SHS student who is fast becoming famous for smoking 'Weed' is a staunch fan of Shatta Wale. His fans love him dearly and can easily emulate some of the things he does.
Rough and impolite talk which is another and arguably his greatest attribute and hallmark has got a lot of youth think to be successful and make it in this life, you need to be rough and impolite to those you meet on your way up. It is true that Shatta Wale may have used this strategy to get himself where he is now but the fact still remains that it does not apply to most situations in life and most people will end up getting rejected and labelled as disrespectful if they are to use this method.
Most of the youth who are fans of Shatta Wale have either directly or indirectly learnt not to respect authority thereby becoming impolite and exhibiting traits of arrogance. In the camp of the Shatta movement and from what their boss display mostly online, humility and respect doesn't seem to be a part of them and this will greatly have a negative effect on the youth who see him as 'god' and will do what ever they see him do.
The notion that what is supposed to be mine must be mine at all cost and by all means necessary even if it involves using a not too sensible approach as sometimes employed by Shatta Wale leaves much to be desired and the youth who equally practice that are most likely to find themselves on the wrong side of the law. The Vodafone Ghana Music Award case involving him and Stonebwoy is a classical example.
I will conclude by saying that Shatta Wale has the greatest potential to transform the youth the right way since he has by far one of the biggest fan base in the country and must be encouraged to better his behaviour for the benefit of the Ghanaian youth.

Useless article, ther are many things swaying the youth of Ghana not this. When somebody just the status quo and then he becomes an enemy. What of Martin Luther whom changed the status quo many years but today many people are benefit from what he did. Posterity will judge if Shatta Wale is a bad influencer.
