Nudity in the music industry.

by

One trend that is becoming very common in our entertainment industry is the issue of most of our females 'showing skin' or exposing themselves on stage during shows or in music videos.

While most people are against such people for 'showing skin', I beg to differ on the subject in that, showing a little bit of skin in the entertainment industry should not be seen as completely bad.

One major thing Ghanaians should understand is that, music just like any business has its own unique branding that makes it appealing to its customers. Exposing or showing skin sometimes can be a branding strategy of some musicians

Some female musicians who wear dresses to expose certain parts of their body during shows are most often invited to play shows because the hypocritical Ghanaian will bitterly complain about how a certain female act dresses on stage but would happily cheer that person on when she performs because he enjoys what he is sees.

One thing Ghanaians should learn to accept is that, the entertainment industry is not an arena where religion is practiced and so there can't be a measure of morality for the players in it.

It's about time we accept the bitter truth that s3x sells and rather develop a strategy to make some income out of it.

Joey B Has Contributed A Lot To My Success – Pappy Kojo

by
They were the very best of friends, attended almost every event together and we are tempted to believe they even went on girl hunt together (don’t mind us) but just as nature may have it, the two went their separate ways due to some misunderstanding.

That, however did not prevent Pappy Kojo from celebrating Joey B on his 28th birthday.

On the said date, Pappy Kojo took time to send a birthday shout to the friend with whom he recently released a single M’akoma attributing his success to him.

In a post, he said, “There wouldn’t be no Pappy kojo without Joey b.hes responsible, forever grateful , happy birthday BEEZY!”
Pappy Kojo wears a tattoo of his dear friend Joey B on one of his arms as a sign of respect and appreciation for what he has done for him.

In September 2016, Pappy Kojo revealed the two ‘fought’ over an issue leading to their separation. However, the good news is that they’re back together for good.

Why Sarkodie Abandoned Sark Wear In Videos On ‘Highest’ Album

Why Sarkodie Abandoned Sark Wear In Videos On ‘Highest’ Album

In hip hop history, it is almost a ritual for every popular rapper to venture into clothing line, as seen with Sean Diddy Combs for Sean John, Jay-Z with Roca Wear, Lil Wayne for TrukFit, T.I. for Akoo and Pharrel for BBC among many others – and yes, Sarkodie for Sark Collection

For Sarkodie, the same enthusiasm and frenzy that greeted his clothing line has fizzled in the last year or so, and reports of his fashion shop going under has also not helped matters to do with Sark Collection.

The most decorated Ghanaian artist of all time, Sarkodie, invited some influential entertainment bloggers and stakeholders to have a view and a listen to the audio-visual material to his upcoming 5th studio album, ‘Highest’ and he had to answer questions relating to his clothing line.

After watching videos from his yet-to-be-released album, blogger and OAP, Zionfelix quizzed him why he wore sneakers and belts of other brands in his music videos instead of Sark Collections as he used to project in his visuals years back. Obidi in a reply said that the company is designing different brands of Sark collection so he is waiting for the new set of materials.

He added that products from Sark Collections were not ready at the time he was shooting the videos so he had to put on other brands.

“I wanted to do photoshoot with Sark Collections and push them but unfortunately at the time we were shooting the videos, we didn’t have the new ones yet that is why I couldn’t have anything to put in there but that does not mean I have stopped wearing them,” he responded.

www.zionfelix.com also reports that, Sarkodie’s new album will be out on September 2017. And it is a collection of 15 brand new songs, 3 interludes and a bonus track – 19 tracks in total as displayed on the official album track-list. An incredible collection of solid Hip-Hop and Afro-Beats cuts that are set to push him even further into the international stratosphere. Highest features some major local and International acts such as his long-time friend and Producer Jayso, UK’s very own Big Narstie, Victoria Kimani (Kenya), Moelogo (UK), renowned Spoken Word artist Suli Breaks (UK), Korede Bello (Nigeria), Praiz (Nigeria), Yung L (Nigeria), Joey B (Ghana), Jesse Jagz (Nigeria), Flavour (Nigeria) and Bobii Lewis (UK).

Nigerian Government Bans Davido’s ‘Fall,’ ‘If,’ 3 others

by
Henceforth, Nigerians will not be hearing Davido’s ‘If’, ‘Fall,’ and three other Nigerian hit songs on their airwaves, Citi Showbiz has learnt.

According naijaloaded.com.ng, the Federal Government of Nigeria through the National Broadcasting Corporation has banned Davido’s two hit songs, Olamide’s ‘Wo’ and ‘Wavy Level,’ and ‘Living Things’ by 9ice.
This comes a few days after the Federal Ministry of Health had openly aired it displeasure about visuals to ‘Wo.’ In its own opinion, the video portrays a bad message that encourages second-hand smoking.

Taking to its Twitter account, the ministry revealed that ‘Wo’ which featured a line where Olamide mentions cigarettes, contravenes Nigeria’s laws on Tobacco advertising, promotion & sponsorship. The risks from this include cancers, respiratory & cardiovascular diseases.

“The public is informed of the dangerous public health content & violation of Tobacco Ctrl Act 2015 in “Wo” by @olamide YBNL #ClearTheAir,” they tweeted.

The general public who were not pleased with the ministry’s decision also expressed their dissatisfaction through these tweets:

It would be recalled that Falz had earlier called out music acts who entertain lavish lifestyles and also fraud. In view of Falz comment, 9ice’s ‘Living Things,’ was the major talking point.

It is not clear what about Davido’s songs may have called for their ban by the National Broadcasting Corporation but this gesture shows the NBC’s resolve to sanitise the lyrical content and visuals of Nigerian music.

John Dumelo takes selfie with Samira Bawumia

by
Popular Ghanaian actor John Dumelo recently hosted the 3rd annual Glitz Fashion Awards held this past week at Movenpick Ambassador Hotel.

He had a “melomoment” with the Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana Samira Bawumia when he sneaked up and got a quick snap with her.

Samira Bawumia’s grace and elegance emanated from the traditional ensemble she donned for the event as she was present to receive the Glitz style icon accolade.

The thirty-three-year-old actor ushered the event into a resounding success as he stood at the helm hosting the award ceremony.

With all eyes on the host, he decided to get creative and Dumelo did as many millennial would do. He took a selfie with Samira Bawumia.

The moment was captured and showed John Dumelo walking to an unsuspecting Second lady who maintained her composure through it all.

The moment was one of pure clarity with the “aha” moment being that John Dumelo was an avid supporter of the now opposition New Democratic Congress (NDC) and the second lady and her beau Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Mahamudu Bawumia were on the side of the current political party in power New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The actor used the opportunity to cosy up to the Ms Bawumia and seemed to extend an imaginary olive branch to the second lady with the photo op.

The selfie, however, is nowhere to be found on famous social media websites.

Catch it on the view from the video.
